Stock futures were set for small gains early Tuesday after President Donald Trump reignited global trade tensions.
The market looks to be focusing more on the ext timeline for deals to be reached rather than the threat of new tariffs. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were down 47 points, or 0.
S&P 500 futures were rising 0. 1% and Nasdaq 100 futures were gaining 0.
Trump signed an executive order on Monday extending the date when his so-called recical tariffs would take effect, pushing the deadline to Aug 1 from July 9.
However, he also sent letters to 14 nations outlining tariff rates they would pay if they didn’t strike trade deals, including Japan and South Korea.
