That would typically mean we could expect a 3x final multiplier or better, so we’d then expect a $320 million opening weekend to translate into at least $960 million and more ly north of a billion bucks

But with an unexpected B grade, the second lowest of the entire franchise, Jurassic World: Rebirth will need to maintain momentum and international turnout to overcome mixed or negative word of mouth and strike near $1 billion territory

At this point, it’s possible that $960 million figure could wind up on the higher end of its possible outcomes, with a sub-$950 million final cume now looking possible

By Mark Hughes Not that anyone expects Jurassic World: Rebirth to fall of a cliff or risk being a flop – there’s no realistic chance of that happening, as even a 2. 5x final multiplier gets it to $800 million

MORE FOR YOU I’m expecting a roughly 2. 7x final multiplier and a finishing worldwide total of $865+ million, with high-end right at $900 million and low end of perhaps $850 million

But everything depends on next weekend’s figures after the arrival of the first major box office threat, and the bigger the box office impact, the faster Jurassic World’s plans for a billion dollar summer may go extinct

Not helping matters is the fact WBD’s and DC Studio’s rebooted superhero cinematic world kicks off in -action next weekend with Superman expected to gross $120-150 million in North America, hoping to overcome its own brand baggage but so far soaring high on fantastic trailers, tons of buzz, and a flying dog wearing a cape who looks an instant favorite for child audiences

While I do still think Jurassic World: Rebirth has good odds of a win as the summer 2025 box office champ, and I am not trying to diminish its terrific opening weekend, I think the cheering is distracting from the signs that this could wind up finishing below loftier expectations even though it will surely still be a blockbuster among the year’s top-5 and definitely among the top-10
