24, 2025.Julio Cortez | APA gunman opened fire at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Dallas on Wednesday morning, shooting multiple people and killing one before taking his own life, authorities said."We had four individuals that were shot, two of them deceased, including the shooter," Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said at a news conference.Federal authorities said that the victims include ICE detainees.No law enforcement members were hurt during the attack, said Joe Rothrock, special agent in charge of the Dallas FBI field office, at the conference.Rothrock said that rounds of ammunition found near the suspected shooter "contain messages that are anti-ICE in nature."One of the unspent shell casings recovered was engraved with the phrase “ANTI ICE.”Source: FBIFBI Director Kash Patel later wrote on X that an "initial review of the evidence shows an [ideological] motive behind this attack.""One of the unspent shell casings recovered was engraved with the phrase 'ANTI ICE.' "Please pray for everyone who's affected by today's tragedy."Johnson, a Republican, called for patience while the active investigation into the shooting continues.Multiple senior Trump administration officials quickly drew a link between the attack and what they characterized as extreme left-wing rhetoric against ICE.
